THE CURRENT MASS EXTINCTION:

This is a wonderful thing. According to the theory of punctuated
equilibrium, evolution happens in sudden outbursts of biological change
separated by long periods of relative stability. Mass extinctions are
one of the most probable causes of these rapid bursts of evolution.
Humanity's actions are increasing time's arrow of evolution, hastening
our own improvement and/or obsolesence.

Sorry pal, but I gotta call bullshit on that. You're clueless.
"Time's arrow of evolution", what utter nonsense.

h sapiens is opening a whole of niches
and it can cause an explosion of adaption and evolution

for example maybe two billions years ago bacteria discovered photsynthesis
and they modified the environment to the point
much of the bacteria was poisoned by oxygen
and new style of cells adapted to the oxygen levels
and created a new ecosystem

the old ecosystem was one that humans can survive easily
theres no way to predict whether the new ecosystem will be as comfortable

we may also find ourselves victims of our own environmental changes
and the world we create might have no place for humans
