NASA's $260 million starcrap probe had *four* - count' em - FOUR
accelerometers to tell its drogue chute when to deploy.  Even an idiot
would know that if you arrayed them orthogonally at least one would be
guaranteed to be the tony (the fourth one is left as an exercise for
the alert reader).  If there is a top and a bottom then two and two
and you cannot miss.  It required surpassing stupidity to mount all
four wrong (every one of Stapp's rocket sled's strain gauges being
wired up 100% wrong against all statistical expectations -
subsequently commented upon by Murphy).

An object d'art that could not withstand a 15 mph parachute landing
came blistering in at 200 mph.  But... it's OK!  The important
fragments are now in 3000 jars (I shit thee not) and over the next
decade or two NASA will expensively recover all the solar isotopic
abundance information - even if it has to make it up.  So the vacuum
cannisters all ruptured and the collection disks pulverized as Utah
dirt came sucking in.  As this very moment NASA is nanomachining a
bunch of very small American flags.  Any piece of recovered microcrap
that does not stand up and salute as a flag is paraded by on an STM
probe is Mormon and can be ignored.
