main Boinc web page, your account, View or edit general preferences,
scroll down and you will see the amount of hard drive space allocated
for Boinc. I have mine set at 5 gig and it always gets plenty of work.
I also have my cache set at 1 day, that could be your problem too.
Lower your cache size and you won't need as much disk space.

Sorry, don't follow :( By the way, in reply to Colin's post, I'm running
v4.13.

Do work while computer is in use? yes
Do work only between the hours of (no restriction)
Leave applications in memory while preempted?
(suspended applications will consume swap space if 'yes') yes
Switch between applications every
(recommended: 60 minutes) 60 minutes
Confirm before connecting to Internet?
(matters only if you use a modem) no
Disconnect when done?
(matters only if you use a modem) no
Connect to network about every 0.1 days
On multiprocessors, use at most 2 processors
Write to disk at most every 60 seconds
Limits on disk space and memory used by BOINC:
Use no more than 1 GB
Leave at least 1 GB

Problem lies with these 2 setting - you have restricted it to maximum of 1
gb on hd then told it to leave 1gb open while boinc works for effective 0
disk space. My own is 5 gb with 1 gb free

Larry

Use no more than 50% of total space
Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory
Limits on network bandwidth used by BOINC:
Maximum download rate: no limit
Maximum upload rate: no limit

Where am I going wrong ? It's gonna be something simple I know, but I
can't
for the life of me see what or where !
I'm not the technical type that understands examples, if it's not spelt
out to
me in plain ordinary English I'm lost :( May be cos I'm Dyslexic ?!

Secondly, I want BOINC to be set to work all the time every time I start
the
computer... At the moment I have to right click the icon on the task bar
and
change it that way - no it makes no difference if I open up BOINC and
File>Run
Always...

Add Boinc to the startup folder under programs in the taskbar.

Already there, it's the fact that it always starts on run based on
preferences
which I think are set to only run when idle...? Or am I misunderstanding
what
it's telling me above ?!

Thirdly, I've uninstalled the original S@H as I gather it's going to be
turned
off... I'm obviously not getting any more workings out done so my stats
aren't
going anywhere...:( Should I still be running the old one until I get
BOINC
sorted so I can keep my stats going ??

Up to you, it will stop after Boinc is running the way the developers
want. Some of us figure a few months yet.
I keep the old Classic program on my hard drive, I have plenty of
space, and when Boinc goes down I crunch for Classic and then switch
back to Boinc when it is back up and doing fine.
You do realize that the Classic stats will not be updated on Boinc
until AFTER Classic officially ends and they are compiled?

Oh, ok then, I think I'll just leave as is then... I'll just run BOINC
when I
can get it to run...;}

TIA all...
