"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", and there's five books in the 'Trilogy'. The reference to '42' is of great significance and is IIRC likely in book 2.

DNA and information it may hold, unbeknownst to us, is interesting. DNA can build a human body and brain that can (begin to) comphrehend the universe. Pretty fantastic stuff! The question is, what else can it do?
