The joke is they invented a computer to figure out the answer to the
universe. It computed for 200 years and finally announced the answser.
It was 42. The protagonist asked, "Are you sure? That doesn't seem
like much of an answer." The computer said of course I'm sure but I
could recheck. The protragonist asked, how long will that take? The
computer answered 200 years. It was funny in the book, honest.

Humm, the summer of 42 scenario :-)
Ok, I'll bite ... which book? ... I been in a scifi reading mood lately
"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", and there's five books in the
'Trilogy'. The reference to '42' is of great significance and is IIRC
likely in book 2.

A good story with thought provoking ideas even if the writing style is
a little awkward. It's also good fun.
We all may just be blindly part of a corrupt experiment...
Yes, it is possible!
We could be just a computer simulation too. Many things ...
DNA and information it may hold, unbeknownst to us, is interesting. DNA
can build a human body and brain that can (begin to) comphrehend the
universe. Pretty fantastic stuff! The question is, what else can it do?
