Hello !

I'm running SETIBoinc on a P4-2.4GHz C - 512 MB DDR - Win XP SP2 box. The
program is currently using 2 processors ( one's a virtual one as a feature
of the dual pipeline feature).

Will I get better results if I try running BOINC off a Ram disk ? Any
pointers / FAQ appreciated.
No help and no faster, based upon Classic when I did it there.
The only advantage was that I could set the amount of time to write to
disk so my laptop harddrive could spin down. If you already have at
least 512k of L2 cache then the program is already running in memory,
if not then making a "virtual" harddrive in memory will not help.
If you have a Celeron than you do not have at least 512k of L2 cache.
