Ok I just checked my firewall log and this hit at 9:07pm
A computer at IP Address 152.1.109.52 has attempted an unsolicited
connection to TCP port 1024 on your computer.
TCP port 1024 is commonly used by the "Reserved / NetSpy Trojan" service or
program. The source computer has scanned your computer for this trojan, but
it has been blocked by your firewall.
So there is no way I am dropping it just to see if Seti works.
If that's ZoneAlarm, then look in the 'control centre' to see what it
has set for the seti program. You could also check the tick box for it
to produce a txt log and then look in that to see if seti is getting
blocked.
Another check is to make sure that your MS Windows firewall is DISABLED.
Having multiple firewalls on the same machine may be good for paranoia
by it gets too confusing!

My system has been probed 500 times over the last two days and
nine hours--and this is over a dialup link that is not up 24/7.
Despite linux not being promiscuous and not needing a firewall, I do
still run the iptables 'firewall' to block out all the MS 'chatter' that
floods across the networks. All the MS viruses and MS trojans and so on
are now just another part of that useless nuisance 'chatter' (:-((
Hopefully, MS might wake up to the problem some day...
Good luck,
Martin
