We have moved the primary database service over to the the new server.
Everything is looking good at this point. The new machine is
currently very under utilized which is good - we are going to grow a
lot!
The new system consists of a Sun v40z opteron with 2 1.8GHz
processors and 8GB RAM, connected to a Sun 3510 fibre channel storage
array. The latter was donated by Sun. As the needs of the project
increase we can add 2 additional CPUs and take RAM up to 32GB.

The old database server is now a replica that will be used for
backups and administrative queries.

I don't think I understand the question. I mean that is a lot of high 
powered stuff you pointed out.
