i'm running here BOINC 4.24 (upgrading from 4.19), still fine.
Everything is working, ok, not everything :-)
I found a new menu item in 4.24: Connect to other Computer.
OK. I installed another copy of BOINC on a second PC as a service, all
fine. Then i tried to connect from first PC to the second -> not
possible. I read on BOINC-Homepage that you have to start BOINC with
-allow_remote_gui_rpc parameter to allow any host to control it. I did
it, restart service an tried to connect -> not possible. I also add a
allowed_host.cfg-file in BOINC-directory -> the same end.
Neither with IP nor SMB-Name it is possible to connect to the 2nd PC.

What do I wrong, or is there a How-To about this. Found nothing on
BOINC-Homepage.
