Yes or no, you choose (:-))

Boinc itself must be upgraded manually by you.

The various clients for Boinc normally update themselves automatically. However, you can switch the client auto-updates off. A project server can refuse to serve WUs if a client is considered too old.


If you are really worried about the Boinc client auto-updates, then perhaps your system is too mission critical to run Boinc (or any other) DC projects.
