This afternoon I was able to upload 1 of 3 and download 2 new wu.
It took several trys to do this. I am sure the server is slowly
catching up. Great work SETI.
Since I have work I turned off network connection until work needs
to upload. This way if all did this it wouldn't tax the server with
repeated request.
BOINC should put a set time interval in the next version like
1,5,10 30 minutes 1,2 hours only. This way Boinc won't contantly
connect for request in the shortest intervals.
I had 3 wu to upload and 2 downloads and all stopped and started
many times with a minute or two intervals before it increased to 15
minutes then an hour. I figure this to be wasted connections.
Do the SETI programmers have an email I send this info to .I don't
think they read these forums. Or maybe I'm wrong.
They already have the time set to incremently increase, but with the
thousands of users ALL trying to get in as soon as the database is
back up the only thing to do is either open the pipe more, more
bandwidth on their end, or let us keep trying. What kind of a
schedule would accomodate over 70,000 individual users each with
potentially multiple computers? I have 15 currently crunching for
Boinc/Seti.
I don't mind waiting...hey how about sparing 1 for the Kingdom of
Jiffy team ;)
Seems like they are all busy crunching for The Final Front Ear right
now, sorry. BUT if you know some friends replacing their older
computers you too can become a "FARMER".
It is really easy, just use the same code when you sign up each
machine.
Oh well ya can't blame a Girl for trying :)
