Computers are designed so that they can run at 100% utilisation
24/7. An exception is with laptops where many compromises are made
for their battery operation and restricted size.

Agreed.  My computer has been running 24/7 for over 2 years with seti 
running.  No problems at all.  It likes it that way;-)
