Hi.
I runn the old style SETI screensaver on three machines (2 XP, 1 W2000 pro)
all three of them have now satlled with the message "can't open file". A
reboot sometimes works, but not now all three have stalled! What file can't
it open? Not a very helpful message.
Any ideas?

I have only seen this on a laptop that was having problems. Do a
defrag of the hard drive and see if the problem clears up, it did for
me for awhile.
If you cannot fix the problem it might be a good time to think about
switching to Boinc, sooner rather than later Classic, as it is called,
will close down. No time frame stated yet but preparations are under
way. They say they will give about a months lead time.
