Hi.
I runn the old style SETI screensaver on three machines (2 XP, 1 W2000 pro)
all three of them have now satlled with the message "can't open file". A
reboot sometimes works, but not now all three have stalled! What file can't
it open? Not a very helpful message.
Any ideas?

Hmmm
For the first time in a while my only classic machine is able to upload
finished results but fails to download a new work unit, so I started to
look round for possible reasons.
From the Classic home page > server status, indicates the data server
is up and running and not dropping connections.
From BOINC home page "March 16, 2005
We have updated the SETI@home/BOINC database with current information
from SETI@home Classic."
I was half expecting it to be shut down any time soon but don't think
that is the case, not sure which graph to look at on the cricket site
but they all look pretty choppy to me.
Maybe use the time to defrag the drive or even change it over to BOINC,
one thing this buisiness has taught me since starting in 1999, besides
how to keep the machines clean and running is patience.
