You can complain all you;d like but Berkeley themselves suggested
SEVERAL times we users sign up for other projects because they
acknowledge popularity is creating problems for them.
And that is one very important advantage of Boinc. Multiple projects can
be selected so that a number of good science projects can be run. The
user can select their preferences as to which they consider the most
'important' to them. If work is short for one project, then the other
projects can take advantage of the slack.
A very good idea.
