When Seti classic ends I wish Seti would give 1 week notice of not
giving any more work units, then at least 1 more week to finish what I
have in cache.
I still have 1 machine with about a 10 days worth of work units.Tomorrow
I will set seti driver to hold only 1 in cache that way no more units
will be downloaded for next 10 days.

They'll be shutting down in phases: first registration of new
accounts will cease, then the servers will stop providing WUs, and
finally no more results will be accepted. They haven't yet said how
long each phase will last, but I would guess at least a week,
probably two. See the transition page, to which a link has already
been posted in this thread.

Why do you think they leave everyone guessing? It could be a week
or several months. The transition page does not answer the question
the SETI Classic users are asking. Let me guess; they're too busy
to appoint someone to speak to the unwashed masses.
The answers to your questions are simple...they do not know the
answers yet themselves! IF Boinc stays up and the number of available
workunits stays high, it is over 1/2 million now, if the validator
keeps up, if this, if that, if something else, then Classic will
continue the close down process. If ANYTHING along that path varies,
and it easily could, then the path widens and the dates get shoved
back. How far, maybe as little as minutes, maybe hours and maybe days.
It even could be a week or so, but I would NOT count on a month!!!
They are COMMITTED to closing Classic down!
