Computer technology marches on, and soon the productive life of
classic
SETI@Home will end. By the time that happens, I probably will have
switched
over to BOINC.

But does the classic version have to vanish completely?

I've lately had the thought that it would be fun to keep the screen
saver
version of classic SaH alive -- purely for demonstration purposes, of
course.
It does look impressive on a computer screen. Also it would still be a
way of
comparing the performance of different systems.

I would also use setiqueue to fill in for the server and cycle thru all your
work units, keep a copy of the account with unprocessed units and stop
setiqueue then just copy this account back and restart setiqueue.
