I just sent this to the seti@hometeam:
Many are asking in the alt.sci.seti newsgroup the following questions:
When will seti classic be shut down?
When should I stop processing WU's?
Will we get a drop dead date?
Why isn't the seti classic updated with information about the shut off?
Why does the website still allow new people to establish a seti classic
account when the program is on it's last legs?
IOW's there are a lot of confused people that want somekinda timeline so
they can plan ahead.

It would be nice if someone in the know would post replies and or current
info in the newsgroup.

I don't wish to dispute anything because I haven't seen much documentation
about it either. However, although it's traditionally used to discus
Berkeley's SETI project, there's nothing in the newsgroup title that
dedicates itself to the project or suggests that volunteers running the
clients will be kept up todate via this forum.
