I don't wish to dispute anything because I haven't seen much
documentation about it either. However, although it's traditionally
used to discus Berkeley's SETI project, there's nothing in the
newsgroup title that dedicates itself to the project or suggests that
volunteers running the clients will be kept up todate via this forum.

That's because they are communists and accept what big brother tells them.
