AFAIK, the BOINC icon doesn't report anything but progress of current
workunits.
With the BOINC Manager open, all messages, including errors, are
reported via the message tab & if you're not attached to any projects
there should only be a few messages there.
Once again, AFAIK there is no part of the BOINC software that is
designed to sever a network connection.

well I tried to download again no wu's, icon on the bottom of screen says
disconnected im damb if I know why this has happened I was enjoying
crunching
I will delete all boinc from my system and try again do you know much
about regedit last I time deleted all boinc by editing them [deleted]

1) Uninstall BOINC via the Add or Remove Programs applet in your Control
Panel.

2) Locate & delete the BOINC folder in the Program Files folder.

3) Locate, download & run a registry repair & optimizer program to repair
your registry from any botched (un)installations. I use
http://www.download.com/Maintenance-Checkup-Home-Edition-2005/3000-2094_4-10375957.html?tag=lst-0-1
however it needs the .net framework installed. If you don't like that, Use
'registry' as a search keyword in www.download.com & you'll get heaps of
hits.

4) Download & install BOINC vers 4.25 from
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php#windows.

5) Assuming that you're signed up for the BOINC version of a project,
attach to it & start crunching.

Not being able to download workunits does not mean a failed BOINC
installation. It means the project is not able to download workunits at
that time.

I don't recomend Maintenance Checkup Home Edition anymore. It's crashed my
pc permanently.
