Ok, I installed BOINC and got it working fine with SETI
and even a few other projects, however I'm electing to go
back to just using the SETI classic program on all of my
PC's.
The reason being is the screen saver. The screensavers
for BOINC, while somewhat nifty, do not have the ability
to be password enabled. That pretty much defeats the
whole purpose of a screensaver, if you use screensavers
to not only protect your monitor but also secure your PC.
the idea of the screensaver is to .. save your screen
you havn't seen monitors with screen savers burned into them have you ?
seti classic is a great example of how *not* to design a screen saver, the
new boinc version is a bit better
I agree though, the password protect should work properly, something for
setiboinc bugzilla maybe?
