Hello. I have been slowly upping the FSB on my Athlon XP 2500+, currently at
FSB175.

I am aware that Boinc works out your CPU/system stats and awards units
accordingly.

If I up the FSB, do I need to tell it to rework out the CPU each time?

Boinc will occasionally re-benchmark your system.

More importantly, have you run Memtest86 and GIMPS mprime torture test to ensure that your system still gives accurate consistent results?

Best is to find the point at which mprime just starts to show errors, then back off by TWO steps so that you have a known good margin of one full step to ensure good CPU FPU operation.

Otherwise, you may just be generating fast rubbish that then pollutes the results returned to Berkeley.

(Note: Your system can appear to be 'stable' even if the FPU is screwed to a random oblivion hotter than Hell.)

Also, take a look at Ned's, FalconFly's, Metod's and Benher's optimised clients. The best complete in a blazing 75% of the time of the normal clients and give accurate results.
