Because it can take an average of 10 days for the other people that

Go here to find out more info about Boinc:

I'm running boinc at present on this machine and it's done two units
thus far but continues to say zero credits. Why?
To find out what is happening go here:
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/home.php
Enter your credentials, and - assuming you have cookies enabled - this link
will then give you your current BOINC statistics every time you go there.
This will include details of every WU, the credit you claimed, the credit
you were granted, and details of other PCs which processed this WU. It would
appear that they grant everybody credit somewhat below the average claimed.
If - like me - you have 7 days of WUs cached (so that you can cope with
outages like the current one) some of the results may take a few days to be
returned, so your credit may show as "pending".
To increase the cache from 0.l days you need to edit your preferences and
alter "connect to network about every ... days".
