They're back now. Problem posted elsewhere. However what annoys me is
that after an extended outage, BOINC may have decided to defer
communication with the server for several days. The other week the IP
address of the proxy for one of my PCs got changed, so it lost
communication. They did fix it after several days, but by that time
BOINC had decided there was no point in trying to contact the server
for 5 days - and there were two days left.

Well they lack staying power....like some men I know ;-)
