Mac OS X etal is just one of the many flavours of unix. There is just
the Mac all encompassing pretty GUI that hides everything (:-))
You can have pretty much the same on Linux where you go through from
install to everyday usage with never needing to even see a command line
let alone do any typing.
(Hell, there's even a desktop that has been made to look and feel just
like Windows, even including the double-clicks fun (:-/)
Some things though are still 'nicer' on the command line (:-P)
