I use GIMPS as a continuous system check. It performs checksums as part
of its calculations that confirm the CPU/FPU operations are still correct.
GIMPS gets low priority (5% - 10% CPU) whilst boinc gets a low priority
but higher than GIMPS.
You are right, I meant for Seti but yes you can crunch or any other DC
