apply and ok do exactly the same thing, aprt from ok exits the window
you are working on

Not so fast! There are other examples. For instance if you change the 
details for a group member in Outlook Express then click on OK, it throws 
away the changes. You have to click on Update first. I know that  from 
bitter experience!
