Agreed, Boinc is general. It is used for science and it could also be
used for commercial projects.
Are you objecting to the
/chance/ that the results from your donated CPU
time could in some way be used for commercial gain?
Otherwise, security concerns are easily dealt with.
(On Linux at least :) )
Myself, I judge each project on its merits. If the science results can
also be used for commercial gain then fair enough. Otherwise, a purely
commercial project would have to have a very good reason to be supported
(and subsidised) by the community!
