The important bit to realise is that the screen display stuff (GUI 'screensaver') is a separate program that you can choose to use or not use.

I installed it and logged in but I have 0 units processed. Is there a way of moving my current 9800 units from the old one to this one ?

Your Classic credits will get recorded on your Boinc stats page when Berkeley next update the database. The results are there, you just need to wait for their next database snapshot to see them listed. This may take a month now or so...
