now comes the question, shall I change over to boinc or quit
That's up to you.
I'm sure you've seen the various discussions on here.
Boinc works well and is feature rich. It is also very good for Science.
Also note that Boinc-s@h is more recent and so is /different/ from the
now very old s@h-classic.
Happy crunchin',

Actually that is not really my question, Seti was when it started,
a new step to evaluate use of computers combined with one of the oldest
questions of mankind - are we allone - this and the feeling you are
not the only nutcase trying to find out, there are millions others
working on it and sharing their time and funds.
Boinc has changed to a more commercial venue where SETI is second
( not that I blame the guys at Berkeley) there seems too little aspect
in the original cause. Other Boinc projects and their support will
eventually let SETI become a low priority issue.
5 Years of crunching with 3 comps, the electric bill probably was enough
for a healthy downpayment on a better car.
I think as long as nobody comes up with a better idea to find ET I will
shut down at least the two heating units in my bedroom and leave only
one running to heat the office

Suit yourself. Actually... nobody gives a rats ass.
