Have they turned off the WU distribution server? If so, this may be the
wind down of Classic. BOINC will be hammered over the next few days? 

They have *not* stopped distributing Classic WUs.  I downloaded one 
thirty seconds ago.  Look elsewhere for the cause of your trouble.
