Nope, not so. If there are new things to examine then the current Seti
Classic could easily be updated to add those checks/tests/routines to the
analysis.

35k+ WU's under Seti Classic
The problem is that under Classic there was no way to add the security
features that have been added under Boinc. In Classic you return one
unit you get one credit, no checking to see if that is the SAME unit
that was issued to you, no checking to see if the unit was even
processed correctly! THAT is NOT how Scientific projects are supposed
to compile their stats! And THAT is what Seti is, a SCIENTIFIC
Project! If Berkeley cannot produce GOOD Scientific data then they are
out of the ET search!!!!
If I said the World was flat, would you believe me? Of course not! Why
not...because it has been PROVEN to not be flat!!! Under Classic it
required a WHOLE REWRITE of the software to fix the problems. Other
projects saw the advantages of Distributed Computing and wanted on the
bandwagon too, Berkeley decided to write a program that would solve
the problems with Classic AND make it easy for other projects to use
the same template so you can crunch for them too, if you choose.
BOINC was born and is here to stay. Is it perfect, NO! Will it get
better, ABSOLUTELY! Will most of us be here to see it, YES! Will you
be here to see it, HOPEFULLY! But if you choose to move on, thanks for
the support so far.
