A fair move for the moment. Hopefully, when Berkeley roll in for their
morning shift, they will track down what is wrong and put in a fix.
let the Einstein gravity wave research have 100% of my computing power. I
think the Boinc downloader noticed this and has brought in more than my
normal queue of Einstein work units, simply because I suspended SETI.
That's the whole idea of Boinc. I wish a few others could relax a little
and let some of the other DC projects get their share...
PS I tried the climate prediction program but the time involved to process a
unit was so hoplessly long (like months) that its not really distributed
computing!
Well, if you are going to squeeze some supercomputer code onto your
humble PC, you can expect it to suffer for a long while.
You do get 'trickles' every few simulation cycles to keep you enthused,
and the deadline is something like a year away. Then also, you need to
be careful not to trash the run before it completes...
All good fun,

Martin
