Yes, fortunately boinc does keep trying. I have been able to send a
number of units back even though the queue seems to have the same
number to return. Hopefully the new machine the are going to put in
will help this situation.

If the current situation continues for too long (speculation), then what
happens to WUs sent out that are not returned within the deadline time?
Even though these may be queued on 3 - 4 PCs unable to return them?
