I'll second that.

With the 939 socket systems, you can put in a single core or a dual core 
AMD CPU without having to change the motherboard! ( ;) )

The AMDs also run much cooler compared to Intel.

I'm having trouble getting Google to identify maufacturers of systems
with 939 socket (I don't want to get into the DIY game!). Can you
please point me at such manufacturers? I assume they're faster than
Pentium D, yes? Many thanks, Tom
