Actually, I've seen a sharp slowdown in credits for this particular
machine lately too. Since I saw about the same for a lot of other
users in our group, I've not been paying too much attention to it.
I just fired up Boinc again on the main one. The stats show me a host
average of 179 3 weeks ago, gradually going down to 113 now. On one of
the other machines it went from 33 to 26 in the same period. So what's
going on? I see several users in the group showing sharp dips, but
strangely enough not you or Claes....
My average credit dropped over 50% about 2 weeks ago, and is now
starting to return to where it was. However, this seems to be in fits
and starts.
I think it coincides with the timing of the outrages (recovery, fall,
recovery, slight fall, etc). This was for all my machines, and the one
that has recovered the most is my main PC. The rest are bumbling around
60% of the average credit they were producing 2 weeks ago.
There may be another couple of factors which lowered my average credit:-
The first was the Validators running very much behind the curve. This is
shown by the current Server Status giving over 1.093 million WUs
waiting, and growing all the time.
The second thing was specific to me, when I changed my cache limits from
10 days to 3. I saw my average credit drop dramatically, and a
corresponding rise in WUs waiting for other crunchers, and validation.
This seems to have taken 2 weeks to stabilise, but I need to see the
changes in context with the Validators running slowly.
Troy is the team member with the greatest drop in average output, and
this occurred gradually about 3 weeks ago, just as I was really rising.
