No, as Lars said, it's doing what it's supposed to.
Check the BOINC manager and the <FILE>, "Run based on preferences"
should be checked. Make certain, "Run Always" is not.
Start <Task Manager> and <Processes>
Look for Setiathome. It should be around 98 - 99%. Now start another
process such as word or Firefox. Almost instantly the Setiathome CPU
utilization will drop to maybe 40%, but it won't be there for long.
Just long enough for the other app to be installed.
Don't bother watching the CPU under performance. That only tells you
how mcuh all the processes are using and will stay near 100% all of
the time if you are running setiathome. It's just setiathome doesn't
use all the processes when something else wants them.
