Using the client for SSE2 and Athlon 64 I complete the reference WU in 118.62 min. (1.6 Ghz Turion64 with SSE3). Using a client optimised for SSE3 and Athlon/Turion 64 should be faster, right?

Yes, with reservations....the person doing the optimising may not do a
really good job or now how to optimise as the person that did the
regular client. There have been instances of optimised clients being
slower than the regular one. Generally speaking the optimised
clientsare MUCH faster than the regular versions. Tetsuji does a
really good job for example, there are others that do well too.
Here is the site for some of the optimised ones, they are all good.

Yea, those are the ones I've been using. On my parents Athlon64 3000 the   optimised client is about an hour and ten minutes faster than the regular one.

I hoped that there was a client for the Turion64 that used its SSE3 abilities.
