I know that credits are dependant upon return of the same
wu's from other participants, but I've watched my own avg
drop from 200+ to 135. To me, that seems to be an excessive
variation.

Average credits is actually RECENT average credit, this is kind of
like a speedometer, the more units you return and get validated the
faster you go and the higher the RAC. This of course goes hand in hand
with the quality of the units being crunched, if you run across a
bunch of 10 minute units your credit will decrease because you are not
spending much time crunching each unit.

Your explanation confuses the situation more. My setup is 'run always',
adsl
connection (always on) & a 10 day cache.
My crunching routine hasn't varied since BOINC/SETI became stable. The
average credits have dropped significantly before, but not this low.

Have you checked to see if you are getting credit for the units? Maybe
you are having problems? Give me a link to you machines and I will
check what I can.
Here is the link to my machines:

Thanks, but I just noticed that all my deadlines expired in 1901. The
average completion time has ballooned from about 3 1/2 hours to 5 hours.
I'll have reset the project by the time this post is read by anyone.
