I never kept log books but I used to complete 2 wu's every 4 hours.
That's
increased from 3 hrs under classic, 3 1/2 hours when I initially
transfered
to BOINC, now it was 4 hours before my last re-install 2 days ago.

Current wu's times are:
The CPU time for the current wu's is 17:41:12 & 17:31:48.
To completion is 43:00:19 & 7:28:21
Those turnaround times seem a bit excessive unless they're crunching a
seriously large wu.

My latest benchmarks are:
3/10/2005 11:36:53 AM||Benchmark results:
3/10/2005 11:36:53 AM||   Number of CPUs: 2
3/10/2005 11:36:53 AM|| 121 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
3/10/2005 11:36:53 AM||   1215 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU
3/10/2005 11:36:53 AM||Finished CPU benchmarks

I have a p4 3.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM. Do those benchmarks seem reasonable? If
they're not, what can I do about it?

The benchmarks are a bit slow, but that actually has nothing to do
with how fast you run a unit. To rereun the benchmarks just click on
file, run benchmarks. The benchmarks have to do with how much work you
get
and is representative of how fast your machine is.
I re-ran the benchmarks before the original post. Both values only varied
by
a few points.

What else do you do with your computer while Boinc is running?
It's setup as a gateway for another computer using WinXP's Internet
Connection Software (ICS) which is running with no problems, something
that
I've never done before. Apart from that, WinXP & BOINC are all that's
running. I haven't got around to re-installing everything else yet.

What other programs are running at the same time?
None at the moment.

What version of the program are you using?
version 4.45

Are you actually running 2 units at the same time or just one at a time?
2, although 3 threads are running. I can't explain that.

AFAIK, the only other thing worth noting was the first attempt to attach
to
SETI failed:

The master file fetch failure is an indication of a file transfer
error. It means that Boinc is not running and you need to go to
projects and click on update now.
The ICS stuff has a HUGE amount of overhead, I used to use that and
after getting a router I was able to get my computer back up to speed.

Thanks for the advice but something changed overnight. I don't know what
changed but it's running normally again.
