Martin,

For some of us it's not a reluctance to change but that there's no
version of the BOINC client for the OS we're using.  In my case I'm
using Tru64 UNIX.  So, when SETI Classic goes down I too quit after
56K+ WUs.

I know you can download the source and compile it yourself which I
tried but it failed.  Since I've never done prograqmming in a UNIX
environment I don't know what the problem is.
