on windows i came accross a problem with seti and dcplusplus
when dcplusplus (DC++) 'hashs' files, i assume crc checks or some such seti
is set higher than the hashing thread/process, so the hashing never gets
done while seti is running, or takes an insane amount of time...
only noticed as my mate was moaning about it :)
i noticed this effect with outlook (creating offline folder - 1 gig
file). if seti is running, outlook creates sooooo slow the *.ost file
that it can take hours (or days) to finish - or never finish.
seti is at lowest priority and outlook alos creates this file on low
priority.
if you stop seti, outlook incredibly speed up this process.
