 Version 5.x of the BOINC core client is the first to use a user determined
password for authentication rather than an assigned account key. This
created a problem for existing users who have not yet chosen a password.
They could not connect. We have pre-populated password related fields in
the database for these users and that should fix the problem. The
pre-population was based on users' account key so security remains intact.
All users who have not chosen a password are encouraged to go to the change
password page to do so."
