Go to S@h website, log into your account and select seti@home preferences.
Choose custom settings. Now you are able to switch of wobbling (set
horizontal/
vertical oszillation and range to 0), set stars to 0 and reduce max. CPU
%.

Or just select the predefined setting "minimalist".

Hi,

Yeah, I did first spent just playing/configuring the SETI (Boinc)
screensaver a little bit. It can be made to look less of an eye sore, but
still is a resource hog.

Main problem with it, regardless of configuration, is that the SETI (Boinc)
screensaver can not be used with a password enabled.
(At least under Win98.)

This has been an issue for a long time with Boinc and doesn't look like it
will ever get fixed. Unfortunate, as it seems like a "fix" couldn't be too
difficult. What happens when the password is enabled is that the password
dialogue box does come up (when you hit mouse/keyboard), but the mouse focus
(for some reason) can't get to the dialogue box -- resulting in your not
being able to enter a password and get back to your desktop. You are
essentially completetly locked out and have no option other than a hard and
nasty power cycle. (CTRL-TAB, CTRL-ALT-DEL, ect doesn't work.)

There are dozens of posts about this problem on the Boinc forums.

So, just thought, maybe there was an "add-on" screensaver out there.
Something that polled the real-time stats (progress) from Boinc, was
somewhat interesting to look at, but didn't goggle resources, ect.

Cheers,
Eric
