Just have it disabled and use your other favourite screensaver, let Boinc always run in the background. (Or is this not possible on Win9x? Too long ago to remember!)

Main problem with it, regardless of configuration, is that the SETI (Boinc)
screensaver can not be used with a password enabled.
(At least under Win98.)

This is an Open Source project. You could trace through for the kludge required for whatever the Win9x quirk is and fix it, or try to enthuse someone else to fix it.

Sorry, but to my mind, Win9x is "old tech" and too insecure in the first place to bother with a "password check". If you're in a business environment, then your IT dept should have moved on to something more recent...

You are talking old Windows here... The password dialog problem is obviously difficult and obscure enough for people to be putting their effort into developing other more useful things.

Try upgrading the OS?

(And Linux comes with real passwords and is Virus-Free ;-) )
