These show the Link stable most of the time, and working to the normal
capacity. However, there are several noticeable dips occurring, when no
connections seem to be taking place. Why?

This is not affecting my WU results returns or downloading new WUs. But,
I have noticed the stats updating is not happening regularly.

Yes, I also noticed the anomalous traffic levels. You can see it more clearly on:

The question is whether those rates are "real" or just bad reporting by that router.

If those rates are indeed real, then there looks to be something amiss somewhere along the system (network or Berkeley servers).
