I did actually e-mail boincadm@ssl.berkeley.edu but received no reply.
Where abouts on the website setiathome.berkeley.edu does it mention your
referred e-mail address?
And your reply does not actually repair the situation as there is still
no password recovery option on the website or in the software.
I did actually e-mail boincadm@ssl.berkeley.edu but received no reply.

I've decided to quit SETI after 6 years of using SETI Classic, running
on Windows.
I tried to join the BOINC system but no longer have the password to
login with my old e-mail address.
I have read the forums and am aware that without this password I
cannot
change any details in my profile including my e-mail address, get an
account
number, link my accounts or "post in the forums".
One of the joys from this project is the credit received for
participation, and "I have lost it".
I have decided to join the World Community Grid which allows password
recovery and am thankful for the foresight shown by the software's
creators.
It is a great pity that the BOINC system does not have this obviously
necessary feature.
