What will happen if I install the microwave tube (from the microwave oven)
into the focus point of my 3 meters sattelite dish and turn on the power?
how far can this wave travel in space.
and what is the frequency of the this microwave?
Thanks

The frequency 2450 MHz is chosen to be absorbed by, and heat, water molecules (or rather the -OH part of any molecule) so the signal will be heavily attenueted by the atmosphere.

If you try, you should bring your dish and what remains of your microwave oven as high up into the mountains as possible (to minimize the amount of atmosphere the signal has to pass through). It should be done in some desert area where the air is dry. It should be cold so the air holds less humidity. You should aim your signal towards the zenith to minimize the path through the air.

So maybee on some high mountain on Antarctica on a cold clear winter night ...

Or maybee you should chose a diffrent frequency?
