When I look on the SETI@Home "classic" page, I see no such thing.
Surely it would be cleverer and more courteous to post that information
somewhere where its likely to be visible to Classic users.

The Classic page is here: http://seticlassic.ssl.berkeley.edu/
if you look in the right hand column under "News" it is the top item!!
It says it was posted 15 Nov, you posted your note on the 19th, maybe
you missed it.
Also ALL Classic users with valid email addresses will get an email
telling them the project is moving to a Boinc based system AND
everyone using the Classic screensaver and crunching Classic units
will get a note on their screen saying that they have received their
last unit and should switch to the Boinc based way of searching.

The top news item I see ‹ in any browser on any machine, even after
clearing the caches ‹ is the Jun 21 entry about turning off the ability
to create new classic accounts. Maybe my ISP's caching an old copy of
the page.

Thanks for your help and for the information.
