The Boinc defaults work very well. For those whom wish to tweak, there's many threads in the Number Cruncher's forum on s@h that discuss the various settings at great length.

And Boinc should run all the time. It is designed to and should have minimal impact. Even so, you can configure it to only become active when the PC has been idle for some time. However on Windows, all those pesky viruses and virus scanners makes life a nightmare! When is "idle" really "idle"?...


What specific problem or "unexpectedness" have you suffered?
